Bilz News from the Pews – August 5, 2009

Some news from the recent past. Actually this is like a micro
newsletter, because some of it is about the actual newsletter
.

First – the newsletter part. For the last several years, until Jean
broke her wrist, Lou and Jean have taken the paper copies of the
newsletter and sent a copy in the postal mail to anyone who didn't get
or see one at church. That was done by taking a list of all households
who get them, subtracting those who have let us know they will get them
from the website [ The VERY Best Way! ], then subracting the people who
were in church that Sunday, resulting in a list of people we mailed the
newsletters to. This was generally about 25-30 issues being put in the
mail.

Until now, we haven't found anyone who will take care of that, so Reed
and I were talking about it and came up with the following solution –

From now on, starting with the August Reporter which will be out on
Sunday, we ask that everyone who has high-speed internet – get your
newsletter from the website at:

http://allsoulsohio.org/newsletters – where the top issue
listed is always the current one.

Reed will print a limited number of paper copies – 30 or so, rather than
60, and bring them to church for visitors and people who don't have
email. Then, paper copies will be sent to others we know who don't have
internet and can't get to church for whatever reason.

This will solve a bunch of issues for us, the least of which is the
monthly expense of postage to send out the paper newsletters.

The immediate benefits include a) The Online Edition is in glorious
color and can be much more interesting to read and enjoy, b) More
people will visit the website, and we would much appreciate that – as
visits might get us responses and suggestions and criticisms of the site
- which makes it easier for us to know what to do with it.

Each month (either Fri or Sat of this week) you will get an email
announcing that the newsletter is available. All you'll have to do is
click on the link and go and read. If you have problems, let me know,
and I'll help you figure it out.

If, for ANY reason, you still wish to receive a paper version of the
newsletter, please contact Lou Green and let her know – we'll see that
you receive one in the mail if you're not in church the first Sunday of
the month.

Thanx for your help! AND – enjoy the online All Souls Reporter!!
